the now but not yet

I really like this concept that we are living in in the midst of what has happened [what Jesus has done] and what is to come [both what He will do while we are on this Earth and what will follow]. I feel like accepting this reality offers me simultaneous freedom from what was and hope for what will be. It also wakes me up to realize I am living in the now!

Currently, I am finding freedom while learning to rest in the midst of the “already” & the “not yet” —

We know who Jesus is. We know who Jesus was. & we know who Jesus will always be.

How crazy is it that the power that brought Jesus back to life - the power that defeated death, sin, and shame - lives in US. The power of Jesus has always and will always be working, both in and around us.

We can already experience the fullness & goodness of Christ’s love while also anticipating and living for the eternal promises that are to come.

May the goodness of His love yesterday, today, and forever speak louder the shame, guilt and hurt of my past and remind me not to fear the future but instead be excited for and expectant of all that He will do.
